Welcome To Our Newsletter
From our President:
"I'm happy to welcome our friends and valued clients to Brattle Consulting Group's newsletter. I hope you find it informative, useful, and
enjoyable. Most importantly, thank you for your interest in Brattle Consulting Group." - Bob Cote, President.
Greetings from Faneuil Hall Marketplace!
Welcome to our October issue of Around the Hub. The goal of our newsletter is to keep our clients up to date with advances in web and mobile technologies, alert you
to new offerings from Brattle, and bring you updates on what we've been working on this month.
In this issue, look for a piece from our lead developer about the future of mobile connectivity, learn how our new text message marketing business can benefit your
company, and see how we're helping students stay on top of their homework.
Fall is a great time to think about advancing your online business by adding a new feature or starting an SMS campaign, before the rush and stress of the holiday
season sets in. As always, we encourage you to contact us with any questions or comments, big or small - via email at
support@brattleconsultinggroup.com or by
phone at (617) 229-7210.
Cheers,
The Brattle Team
Additions To Our Staff
George Dirth - Lead Application Developer
Thanks to Brattle's continued success, we have been able to expand the business by hiring our newest application developer, George Dirth. Brattle
President Bob Cote says Dirth is a "skilled developer and a fast learner."
Dirth and Cote met at a web development firm in New Hampshire several summers ago, and Cote was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Dirth again. Originally from Bedford, NH, Dirth recently graduated from Oregon State University with his BS in Information Systems and Business Management. He is happy to bring new ideas and fresh knowledge to Brattle.
Dirth's previous experience is in web development, website management, and code writing in many languages. In his spare time he enjoys hiking with his dog, Diesel.
Valerie Carson - Public Relations
Brattle is happy to introduce our new copywriter and editor, Valerie Carson. She will also be taking on some of the responsibilities of Public Relations Director.
Carson has a strong background in writing and communications. She studied at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore. where she was the manager,
head of correspondence, and customer relations director at historic Burst's Chocolates.
The newsletter and blog will be Carson's primary responsibilities, but her experience in journalism and grammatical training will make her an excellent
editor for any site developed by Brattle.
John Chryssicas - Business Development
Brattle is pleased to announce our newest team member, John Chryssicas, Director of Business Development and Head of Sales. Chryssicas brings many
years of experience in those areas, including time spent in development at telecommunications business USTelecenters. Brattle believes that experience
will benefit him in SignalSMS sales.
Chryssicas helped build USTelecenters, working on many aspects of that process including hiring, setting up a satellite office,
setting up IDS and PDS, and recruiting and managing account managers, customer service representatives, and the IT
division. He also designed and implemented the human resources department, developed employee relations training, counseling retention, and
quality control programs. While building the company to over 200 employees, he worked with such well-known mobile companies as AT&T, Verizon,
and Sprint. Perhaps most notably, Chryssicas helped to implement the now common 1-877 and 1-866 phone numbers.
Previous to that position, Chryssicas was the regional sales director at what was then one of the largest airline carrier in the world: Eastern
Airlines. He spent 16 years with this major airline in the control center, operations and marketing.
Regarding his new position at Brattle, Chryssicas says he is excited about the "energy level of the new product SignalSMS." He believes this brings
Brattle ahead of the curve in the US, where we can use this technology to conceptualize and implement traffic and revenue. But Chryssicas says he
is also committed to "building effective long term relationships" with new clients of this cutting edge product.
Chryssicas resides on the South Shore with his wife and three boys: Coby, Logan, and Lance.
New Product Launch
In keeping with our commitment to remain at the forefront of technological advances in our field, Brattle Consulting
Group recently launched a new text message marketing business called SignalSMS™. The new site,
www.SignalSMS.com,
will allow any business to create and launch an active text message marketing campaign in as little as ten minutes.
Although it is a fairly new concept in the world of business and marketing, text message marketing is growing quickly.
SMS (text message) marketing technology can be used to promote brand awareness, build customer contact lists, and provide
additional information to consumers...
4G Technology - What We Think!
For the last decade there has been a convergence of all kinds of technologies, especially those involving communication.
VOIP, PDA's, Wi-Fi cell phones, camera phones, touch screens, accelerometers, the list goes on. In many aspects, the
features available on a cell phone eclipse those available on either a laptop or a desktop. And as far as anyone can
tell this trend is only going to be magnified as the gap between cell phone and laptop continues to narrow. For example,
the G1 due out this month and the iPhone (along with all of the copycat phones that have cropped up since its release),
are the most recent step towards closing that gap. They both feature full web browsers as well as many other features
previously only seen on personal computers...
Mobile Websites - Reach Your Full Potential Now
Technology is constantly evolving. At Brattle we are well aware of this fact, but we embrace it. We want to help you transition
from last month's high-tech to next month's revolutionary innovation smoothly. Currently, many companies are pleased to simply
have a functioning, attractive, easy-to-navigate website. Since that happens to be our specialty here at Brattle, we are happy
to help you accomplish that, but we encourage you to take one more step to stay in synch with evolving technologies.
As you may have already heard from us, cell phones continue to be the biggest technological tool we have. We use them for email,
texts, phone calls, calendars, and now the Internet. So with more phones being designed to access the web, you...
Recent Work
Association of Outdoor Recreation & Education (AORE)
AORE's mission is to provide opportunities for those in the field of outdoor recreation, and also to promote preservation and conservation of the natural environment. They approached us with the initial desire to streamline
their manual business processes, so we listened to the immediate and future goals of both the members and board members...
Cheverus School
Much like some of their students, no doubt, Cheverus Centennial School of Sacred Hearts Parish wanted a new look for back-to-school this year. So Brattle stepped
in to completely redesign and redevelop their website, making it cleaner and adding some useful applications. We built a full content management solution, and an online homework tool to keep both parents and
students informed about upcoming homework and assignments...
Tethys Petroleum
Brattle Consulting Group has gone global once again! Tethys petroleum is focused on oil and gas exploration and production activities
in Central Asia with activities currently in the republic of Kazakhstan and more recently the republic of Tajikistan. For Tethys we
developed a website that serves as a communication hub for the board members, members, and affiliated committees of ATBDC
(American-Tajik Business Development Council).
900 Degrees
Brattle came to the rescue for 900 Degrees - a pizzeria in Manchester, NH - when we took over development of their website from another developer whose progress was disappointing the restaurant.
We were able to deploy our proprietary content
management system (CMS) that gave them the ability to modify their web site without going through us every time something needed to be changed...
